“But he needs a sibling! Don’t you want a little girl?” Are two of my most hated phrases that people seem to throw at me when I tell them my son is my only child, because no – he doesn’t need a sibling, and little boys are pretty awesome too!
Being a mum is hard enough without other peoples judgement and opinions, so I wanted to create a space where I could celebrate and share all the things that make one and done parenting of a boy fabulous. As fabulous as big families, all girl families and everything in between!
My name is Siobhan (pronounced ‘sh-vorn’, it’s Irish don’t blame me) and I live in Bristol, in the UK, with my husband, our not-so-little-anymore son Toby and our ever-so-slightly loopy cat Artemis. When I’m not blogging about motherhood I am a teacher, currently teaching EYFS although I have taught every age through to KS4! I am also working hard to renovate our Victorian terrace, which destroys both my sanity and my bank balance simultaneously.
I love visiting new places, especially cities with pretty architecture, and trying new food. I am currently on a healthy-eating kick and recently joined the cult club that is Slimming World. If I’m not eating food, I’m probably watching the latest crime drama series on Netflix or reading my Harry Potter books.
I have been building websites since I was 11 (that’s over 20+ years now, wow I feel old!) and love to make new connections and friends through my websites. If you want to get in touch please send me a message or email hello@oneboymum.com.
